Heartbreaking Record Cafe & Bar is a tiny Chinatown listening room for people who actually came for the records. It works as a cafe, bar, record shop, and low-key hideout, with hand-drip coffee earlier in the day before the room shifts into cocktails, whisky, and highballs. Vinyl sits right at the center: turntables by the counter, records lining the walls, guest selectors dropping in, and guests welcome to bring their own finds. ’70s and ’80s Japanese city pop give the place a clear personality, while the sets can wander through Thai pop, molam, reggae, hip-hop, house, jazz, and whatever the selector feels like playing.
