Goldsmith Bar brings a dose of 1920s Shanghai glamour to modern-day Chinatown. All red lacquer, velvet shadows, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting. It’s the long-awaited upstairs sibling to Chop Chop Cook Shop, housed in the same goldsmith-built shophouse and finally giving the building the bar it deserves. Inside, it’s all about rich details: jewel tones, vintage curves, and Jim Thompson fabrics that flirt with the light. Behind the bar, Nabiel Nasaran mixes cocktails that lean bold, floral, and spirit-forward, with a few surprise hits of umami and gold-flaked ice, because why not? The drinks are complex but not fussy, and the bar bites come straight from David Thompson’s kitchen, which means they hit.
